In this position, the Design Director will collaborate with and be an integral part of the Experience Design Team, assisting in the development of the design team. This includes performing as a subject matter expert and major contributor within their discipline while simultaneously coaching their team. Candidates need to be able to work in an office that has a casual corporate culture with a collaborative team approach. This position is hybrid with the base office located in Portsmouth, NH. Domestic travel is a requirement of this position.

 

Accountabilities

• Develop, document, and produce strong original ideas, concepts, and design direction into innovative and implementable environmental solutions
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to design branded retail spaces that translate the client’s visual communication goals and objectives into appealing brand narratives in the retail environment
• Works within project schedules to prioritize tasks, create deliverable outlines and directs team accordingly to ensure creative materials are delivered on a timely basis, always maintaining consistency and quality
• Manages, coaches and develops a team of up to five designers while maintaining a heavy project workload
• Support a positive, creative, collaborative, and inspirational atmosphere with all departments at Adrenaline

 

Responsibilities

• Serves as prime interface with the client and consultants with regard to design issues and presentation
• Maintain documentation and detailing standards for all projects
• Own, manage and execute multiple projects at a time
• Works closely with the design team and project managers in the development of project delivery strategies, road maps, scheduling, budgets, etc.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary team members

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree Education in Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, or related field
• 10+ years professional experience
• Excellent skills in Adobe Suite, AutoCAD or Illustrator CADTools, MS Office; Sketch-up (or other 3D
• modeling) skills a plus
• Proficiency drawing in scale and familiarity with architectural documents, elevations, plans, and shop drawings
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Strong leadership, management, and coaching skills
• Superior problem-solving skills and strategic/analytical thinking
• Ability to balance and prioritize project work with coaching and team member growth
• Highly motivated, proactive, self-starter who has a keen sense of urgency and follow through
